About SEWA Bharat:

Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) is a movement to empower women working in the informal economy. SEWA Bharat is part of the national SEWA movement. Established in 1984, it is a national federation of SEWA organisations of women working in the informal economy. SEWA Bharat emerged out of the need to address the SEWA movement’s challenges with geographical expansion and coordination. SEWA Bharat comprises a family of SEWA organisations to further informal women workers’ rights, livelihoods, financial independence, education, health and social security.

Scope of Work:

We are seeking an initiative-taking professional with experience in marketing, both offline and online, to join our team. As the Marketing Associate, the person will develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives that raise awareness and drive engagement. This position will be key in shaping our brand identity and expanding our reach within the community and beyond.

Tasks and Deliverables:

  • Create and carry out marketing strategies to promote our mission and support women workers.
  • Write engaging content for social media, blogs, newsletters, websites, and other marketing materials like posters, presentations, and product catalogues all while keeping the messaging consistent across all channels.
  • Collaborate with different teams on fundraising, product launches, and events.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, donors, partners, and the media.
  • Review marketing data to improve campaigns continuously.
  • Stay informed about marketing trends and best practices.
  • Track and report the effectiveness of marketing efforts to show results.
  • Understanding the needs of women workers in the supply chain and supporting interventions for upward mobility.

Reporting:

  • Maintain reports and other relevant documentation in the context of the business growth work.
  • Updates, analyses, and learnings will be shared with the other team members, programme coordinator, and other stakeholders as and when required.
  • This role shall report to the State Coordinator.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Prior experience of 3-4 years in marketing, working with social enterprises or livelihood initiatives in the not-for-profit space will be helpful for the role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., social media management, email marketing, analytics).
  • Creative thinker with the ability to develop and execute impactful marketing campaigns, especially for offline marketing.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Passionate about women’s livelihoods and entrepreneurship and contributing to their economic empowerment.

Location:

Phulia, West Bengal

Salary:

Rs. 40,000-45,000 per month

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to per-urban and rural locations of the state every month
  • Fluency in Bengali, Hindi, and English
