The colossal drain in Nehru Nagar, Patna was full of garbage and had overflowed on multiple occasions causing a sanitation nuisance as well as accidents, including the death of a child who fell in it. Across the settlement, members of SEWA came together to demand services from government institutions and elected representatives on this issue, and many more, demonstrating that women’s collective action is the key to positive change.
