SEWA Bharat (www.sewabharat.org) is the All-India Federation of Self-Employed Women’s Associations that works with women workers in the informal sector in 18 states. In all these states, SEWA is involved in organising women workers and their development through Self Help Groups, Co-operatives and Federations. With over 2 million active members across 18 states, SEWA Bharat’s reach in the development sector is ever expanding. SEWA Bharat supports development programs and activities that organize women so they can aim to achieve full employment and self-reliance for all its members. SEWA Bharat is a family of SEWA organizations to further informal women workers’ rights, livelihoods, financial independence, education, health and social security.
Job Description:
As the Grants Manager of SEWA Bharat, the incumbent would support in fundraising efforts, collaborations/partnerships and ensuring programs are compliant with the relevant laws applicable for the development sector, donor and SEWA Bharat’s policies.
Roles and responsibilities will include:
1. EOI/ Proposal/ Application for a Grant
- Completing Admin, Organizational, Financial and Declarations sections of EOI/ Application/proposal
- Review draft proposals and provide comments keeping FCRA, and other regulatory compliances and SEWA Bharat’s policies in view
2. Due Diligence
- Due Diligence conducted by potential donors
- Due Diligence for potential partners (Third parties) under various projects
3. Grant/Service Agreements with donors
- Review/ fill-in the documents, as required by the Donor, along with the Agreement
- Review the Terms & conditions of the donor Agreement
- Speak to the donor, get clarifications, negotiate for revisions to the clauses in the best interests of the organization
- Document the revisions, via email, where the revision of the Agreement is not possible
- Prepare draft agreements where asked by donors and share with them
4. Third Party Agreements under various projects
- Develop templates, tailor the Agreement template as per the needs of the program
- Train Project teams in preparation of the agreements and support in finalising
- Ensure all agreements are compliant with regulatory, donor and SEWA’s policies and procedures
- Ensure the Agreements are processed/ signed as per the authority delegated
- Guide the teams in the preparation, finalisation of the amendments/ addendums
5. No Cost Extension/ Close-out
- Be part of the team for No-cost extension requests and explain to the donor the technicalities involved, as needed
- Review/ prepare the No-cost extension amendments
- Ensure the documentation is complete in case of Close-out
6. Third Party Evaluations/ Studies
- Review and provide feedback on the study/ evaluation reports
7. Document the Delegation of Authority to sign the project documents
8. Signatory in agreements, invoices and reports for specific donors and programs
- Review and sign the Agreements, periodical reports, declarations to the donors
- Provide clarifications as needed
- Review the progress of the implementation
- Represent SEWA Bharat where necessary
9. Develop systems, Processes, Templates for grant management, as required
- Provide training and guidance to the staff on new systems
10. Guide Project Teams on the required compliances of Partners and Partner Management.
- Prepare detailed guidelines/ instructions with the new systems/ policies of the respective
donor
11. Keep track of the changes in the relevant regulatory laws/ restrictions and implement in the systems, policies, as required
12. Registrations on portals/ donors for fundraising
- Register/renew on the portals as required
13. Support the teams with the Donor initiated audits
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in either Accountancy, Commerce, Business Administration, Law. Master’s degree is an advantage
- At least 10-15 years of experience in handling Grants funded by a diverse set of donors
- Past experience administering USAID grants strongly preferred
- In depth knowledge of laws applicable for the development sector including FCRA, IT, CSR, Societies Registration Act etc.
- Strong understanding of international contracts and cooperative agreements including their relevant terms, conditions and the differences between them
- An effective and energetic team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and multi-cultural environment
- A good command on spoken and written English, Hindi
- Strong self-motivation and innovative skills
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word
Location:
The position is based out of New Delhi
Compensation:
60K-80K
