Chikmoon Bibi of Shibpur Village in West Bengal used to roll beedis along with her daughter and daughter in-law to support her family of six. Not having been paid since the lockdown imposed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and little support from the government, Chikmoon Bibi struggled to make ends meet or pay for her medicines for long-running health ailments. SEWA distributed a ration kit of necessary items such as grains, spices, soap and other essentials to guide through these tough times.
