About SEWA Bharat:
Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) is a movement to empower women working in the informal economy. SEWA Bharat is part of the national SEWA movement. Established in 1984, it is a national federation of SEWA organizations of women working in the informal economy. SEWA Bharat emerged out of the need to address the SEWA movement’s challenges with geographical expansion and coordination. SEWA Bharat comprises a family of SEWA organizations to further informal women workers’ rights, livelihoods, financial independence, education, health and social security.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated manager for a social enterprise that brings the handmade products of women’s collectives like artisanal soaps, hand-woven saris, etc. to market. This position requires a strategic thinker with a passion for sustainable business practices, strong management and leadership skills, and a good understanding of social enterprises.
Responsibilities:
- Management, Team Leadership, Development –
○ Be the POC for all verticals within the enterprise. Responsible for managing and coordinating with various stakeholders in different states.
○ Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and motivated work environment.
○ Recruit, train, and manage a team of staff, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
○ Responsible for documentation and reporting to internal and external stakeholders on all
verticals of the enterprise.
○ Collect and report on feedback from beneficiaries and stakeholders to improve service. - Business and Operations –
○ Assist with and provide inputs for business development and strategy.
○ Oversee daily operations, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the business process
○ Responsible for managing stock, inventory levels and coordinating for supply chain and logistics.
○ Responsible for providing support to the collectives for market linkages and business leads generation.
○ Provide support to organise and participate in exhibitions, trade fairs, and pop-up markets to increase product visibility, as and when required. - Financial Management –
○ Manage the enterprise’s budget, cash flow, and financial targets.
○ Track performance metrics, providing regular reports to stakeholders on sales, expenses, and profitability.
○ Ensure compliance with all financial, regulatory and statutory requirements.
○ Perform other duties as assigned by the manager to support the organisation’s goals and ensure smooth operations.
Education and Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
● 4 – 5+ years of experience in business/enterprise management. Experience working with social enterprises and the development sector is preferable.
● Strong managerial skills with experience in working with diverse teams.
● Should be proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.
● Financial acumen, with experience in budget management and data analysis.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Knowledge of sustainable and ethical business practices is a plus.
Location:
Delhi
Note – The role requires extensive travelling across various locations as part of the business operations. The candidate must be adaptable, strategic, and passionate about contributing to the empowerment of women in the informal economy.
