Responsibilities:
As SEWA Bharat’s Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Associate your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement and supervise data systems for SEWA Bharat’s projects and programs. This role will include:

Maintenance of existing M&E systems

Ensure continuous adaptation and improvement of systems, necessary due to the organic nature of SEWAs work

Identify room and strategies for technology upgrades
-
Ensure usage and checking for quality and consistency of data inputs by staff
-
Conduct data analysis on state and national level, collate and communicate findings within the organisation
-
Support SEWA Bharat staff in transforming findings into action

Scoping and implementation of further M&E systems
-
Create systems for programs across states
-
Identify suitable ways of analysis to enable data-driven insights
-
Assess need and feasibility for liaising with external providers
-
Ensure holistic approach and integration of existing and new data systems
-

Support of program design

Help to design success metrics for tangible and intangible short- and long-term program outcomes

Identify appropriate impact assessment mechanisms, including internal and external solutions, across various projects and programs

Analysis, reporting, visualization and dissemination

Impact articulation

Help SEWA Bharat to use its data to articulate impact – internally and externally

Support SEWA Bharat’s advocacy efforts with findings from the ground

Support SEWA Bharat’s fundraising work with rigorous evidence

Collect impact stories from the ground to highlight SEWA Bharat’s achievements

Capacity building & documentation

Foster a positive data culture in the organisation

Train SEWA Bharat staff in the collection, analysis of data and usage of insights

Develop the capacity of SEWA Bharat middle-management to work with data
-
Create guiding documents and frameworks for M&E activities to ensure knowledge management and sustainability in the organisation
-
This role will also involve developing a long-term strategy for establishing the importance of reliable data to improve decision-making and program execution in the organisation. We seek a flexible and knowledgeable big-picture thinker, ideally with management experience, with an interest in designing and building a high-capacity vertical within a well-established organization.
Salary is sector-competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s prior experience.
Requirements

Graduate degree in economics, statistics, population studies, development studies or similar is preferred
-
2-5 years’ experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning, especially in the Indian nonprofit space and on various angles of women’s empowerment
-
Proven track record of designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems, in either a central or more on-the-ground capacity
-
Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods, tools, and techniques
-
Knowledge of standard Office applications, statistics and data visualization software
-
Willingness to travel to offices across India as required

Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, in both English and Hindi, other languages such as Bengali or Kumaoni are an asset
-
A creative and flexible self-starter, skilled at handling multiple projects and tasks in an entrepreneurial environment

Ability to work in an organized and efficient manner within a relatively unstructured work environment
-
Ability to take initiative and leadership even with minimal supervision

Passion for bringing about real, sustainable, large-scale change for women in India’s most marginalized communities
