Content Writer and Editor

About SEWA Bharat:

SEWA Bharat is looking for a Content Writer and Editor who will support its Communications vertical in producing compelling pieces of writing that will amplify the organization’s work and voices from the grassroots. The content will be written and edited keeping in mind the relevant stakeholders ranging from funders to community members. The said person will work with the Communications team to create a variety of offline and digital collaterals to improve the outreach of the interventions, fulfill the programmatic needs and spread awareness among its grassroots members towards enabling full employment and self-reliance.

Deliverables:

  • Draft/Edit monthly newsletter of SEWA Bharat that captures the activities from the ground and amplifies the voices of our members
  • Write and edit timely pieces for publishing across various digital media platforms
  • Create well-researched written content that can be turned into social media posts
  • Research and draft awareness messages in Hindi that can be turned into IEC collaterals to be disseminated among our grassroots members
  • Support in writing and editing Annual Reports, Quarterly Reports and other written pieces based on the requirements of the external stakeholders
  • Document case studies of SEWA members interacted with during the field visits
  • Write ad copies to promote SEWA Bharat’s website using Google Ad grants
  • Fulfill the requests on a need-basis as placed by other teams within SEWA Bharat

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications (Masters/PG Diploma preferred)
  • Engage readers with informative, entertaining, and educational copy
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar
  • Ability to interact with the grassroots communities and highlight their stories into the mainstream narrative
  • Adept at working on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously
  • Proficiency with computers, especially writing programs, such as Google Docs and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to communicate with various stakeholders
  • Understand and consistently reflect the voice of the organization in writing style
  • Willing to travel outside Delhi to field locations
  • Good written and spoken Hindi
